| Just wondering what is realistic or the best practice. Thanks! |
| For most kids taking 10-12 throughout high school is a lot. Have also read that most only end up taking the exam for half. I guess 4-6 would be a full load for most. |
| My dd took 3 her senior year as did most of her friends. This group was also very active in multiple EC- student government, varsity sports, church and scouts. They had some classmates that took 5 AP classes but most of those kids were not as active in multiple EC. |

My DC is only a rising junior but plans on 3 or 4 senior year, depending on how taking three goes this year. Hopefully four but may scale back to three.
Some people may count Econ as 2 but that’s typically one semester each. For some kids, AP calc is a no effort breeze. For others a nightmare. |
| Mine DD took 16 in HS. MCPS. |
Did she go to good college? |
|
My senior is taking 4 this year.
He wanted another one, but that class was full. So total he'll have taken 11 AP classes. With mostly 5s so far on the exams. |
UMCP with a full ride. It turned out okay. |
| Mine is taking three this year. Took five last year. Will have taken 10 by graduation. |
| My rising college sophomore took 7 senior year but only passed 3 of the exams YMMV. She had straight As in the classes and is attending UMD. |
| 4. She will graduate with 10. She’s my dedicated student. My average kid took 2. |
| Four for one kid, five for the other. Some kids none. Every kid is different, your child has to do what is right for them, not what is right for others |
