At what point does BC BS cover treatment by an RE?
There are a LOT of different BCBS plans in DC -- the plan I used to have covered SG, and I liked Anitha Nair and Eric Widra at the downtown K street location.
Definitely depends on your plan. You should call them and ask.
all the docs at columbia fertility take bcbs
Shady Grove takes BCBS but I agree that you need to check on the specifics of your plan. There are financial coordinators in all of the SGF offices who can call the insurance company on your behalf and find out exactly what is covered. I found that they were usually able to get a better idea of what is and is not covered under my plan than if I tried to call myself.

Completely depends on the level of the plan, I think. I went to Dr. Gindoff and office visits, u/s and tests were all covered, as was a large % of the drug cost. But the actual IVF treatment was not covered under my employer's national PPO version. A non-national plan offered by my employer does cover though, so I think it's really the plan that counts.
Dr. Sacks.
Dr. Gordon at Dominion Fertility takes BCBS and he's a great doctor.

Another vote for Dr. G at Dominion, but someone mentioned Dr. DiMattina, above. He is at Dominion too.
I had BCBS and went to Dr. G...hate to say, though, it wasn't a problem with them accepting my BCBS, but my plan didn't cover much. Most of the advanced treatment was OOP. BUT BCBS did pay a good chunk of my meds. WLD |
