Is anyone connected to the PTA for Arlington Traditional? Looking for more information on the open house, school supply lists and anything else my family might need to know. We haven't been sent anything since accepting a kindergarten slot, and have had some family stuff going on, so I am wayyyyyyy behind. I've reached out to the school as well but was hoping this approach would get me quicker answers.

| My kid goes to another APS Elementary school, but you can look up the supply list online -that's what I typically do, I don't think you ever receive a list from the school. I think all of the Open Houses are tomorrow, but I'd think you should have received something from ATS about that...our school has two different time slots based on grade level. |

| We also just got a slot for kinder at ATS. The "open house" is tomorrow from 9am-9:30am. I don't have info on school supplies but am assuming more info will be given tomorrow. The school has been very helpful each time I have called today so that might be the best way to go at this point. Good luck! |

Don't worry about school supplies, they are already there, waiting for your child. |

I've seen your questions coming in, and I've been waiting for either a person in leadership or an "experienced" ATS parent to chime in . . . I am NOT on the PTA, so I'm just giving you my experience from pre-covid on a number of questions you've asked: 1. Baroody camps: (after school enrichment) the fall schedule always seems to come out much later than I expect -- like end of September, early October (I just checked past emails, and in 2019, the fall schedule wasn't released until 9/27). I don't know if Baroody will be working with ATS this year, but just know that if they are, we probably won't get schedules for many more weeks. Meal cards: your child will use their school ID number for deducting money from their lunch account, which you set up in Schoolbucks. In kindergarten, when the students line up to walk to the cafeteria, the teacher hands the "hot lunch" students a card that has their name and ID number on it, and the lunch ladies collect the cards as the students walk through the kitchen. In older grades, the students know their ID numbers by heart, and punch them into a machine as they walk through the line. (tip: make sure to use the "autopay" feature, or whatever its called, in your Schoolbucks account . . . you can have the account automatically add an amount of money specified by you to the account once it hits a certain low point . . . from past experience I can tell you that the lunch money seems to go fast, and it's so much easier to not have to think about it!) |

If you accepted a K slot this summer, you might want to reach out the the school. They'd be happy to share any info. that you seek. I feel like (no offense) that may have been a better path to take then posting to an anonymous group like this. What makes you think that a group of total strangers will have more accurate information for you than the school? I am sure the school would be delighted to help you if given the chance.

Also you should have received an email from your child's teacher with the open house times. If you didn't you need to contact the school. Did you get your child's teacher assignment?
The K students' supplies are purchased for them by the PTA. The PTA asks that those who can afford to, reimburse the PTA for their kid's supplies. |
