| Now that the summer is almost over just wondering how much reading were your kids able to get done given the camps, travel etc.. mine did a fair amount. Not as much as I would have liked.. |
| Rising first read at least 10 books that I bought her or she got from the library but she also did a lot of reading in bed from her bookshelf. Of course these are short books (Salem Hyde, Zoey & Sasafras, Narwal & Jelly) but she has a love of reading and I’m thrilled beyond belief |
| 0 .. my kid hates reading |
| My kid is in private school and he only read the 2 books that were assigned. |
| No idea…. 10 yo reads at night before bed. No idea how many books total, some wee from library, some were her own. |
| Zero. Neither of my kids like to read, unfortunately. |
| .5 a book each. |
| About 5 |
| About 10, but they were all graphic novels. I would've preferred chapter books, but I'll take what I can get. |
| 11-year-old read about 3 novels. Mostly stuff like the Hobbit. |
| My 8 yo loves to read. She averaged around 75-100 pages a day. She blew through the Harry Potter series, Percy Jackson, The Little Princess and others she picked from the library that I can't recall. |
Enjoyed the whole summer in preparation for hard work ahead. |
| Question should probably be how many book did your DC/DS comprehend? |
|
Senior reads constantly, all good books and current events.
7th grader reads, but not what I want her to read. Tried to push literature in our native language, and it was like pulling teeth... finally I was surprised that she liked an author who writes like Edgar Allen Poe - suspense and a bit morbid. So I guess Edgar Allen Poe is next, and maybe Hound of the Baskervilles, things like that. |
LOL same. And yet he scores over 90% on MAP-R reading so not pushing it. |
