Verizon is $45/line for our unlimited plan
TMobile is $25/line For my 6 lines, this would be saving $120/month??? Am I missing something? I know coverage won’t be as good, but I’m mostly home using Wi-Fi service and Wi-Fi calling. For a basic phone service, I am leaning this way. |
No you’re not missing anything. Verizon is just hideously expensive. T mobile is awesome if you live in an area with good coverage and it’s great in the DC area. |
Thanks we had liked VZW because they worked on metro well, but we never commute anymore |
We just switched to Tmobile after having Verizon forever.
The switch was a bit of a pain. Mine took a few days to port. We went to Europe and it was fantastic that the phone was working without having to enroll in an international plan. I didn't realize the phone was working during the flight- even on airplane mode. I thought I was connected on United's free messaging only (which requires you to be in airplane mode) but CNN was working! I am not sure if that is dependent on the plane because it wasn't working on our return flight. So far, 3 out of 4 of the family are satisfied with the service. Our high schooler is not.. apparently there is hardly any service inside the high school building. I did experience this myself during a school event. So, I am not sure what to do with that- I definitely do not want my kid to not have coverage AT school. |
What? No cell coverage while in school is a feature not a bug. Sure if they have a lockdown or school shooting I guess that’s a worry, but realistically the risk is distraction from school and interfere with studies which that allays. |
This isn't a feature. My kid did warn me that Verizon works best in his school.building. i didn't believe it until.I.was in the building last week and neither my text nor voice call would even work. I've Been in that sane building with vetizon before and it worked fine. Today, kid said he was able to receive texts but not send texts. |
Does verizon even offer free data and phonecalls in foreign countires like T-mobile does? Tmobile's military plan is even better! |
I prefer AT&T. |
Switched from Verizon to T-Mobile a few years ago and have never looked back. T-mobile's plan is great and you get free Apple TV and Paramount Plus for a year, and I think we pay like $2 or $3 a month for Netflix. Lots of extras and giveaways. |
Verizon international plan is 10 dollars per day when you are traveling. No extra charges for tmobile |
|
Thanks for sharing? |
Nope not missing anything. I pay $170/mo for a family plan that includes 3 phones, unlimited everything. Also, I get Netflix free through Tmobile. My friend pays pays more than half of that just for herself on Verizon and she’s not on an unlimited plan. She actually tried to switch to T-Mobile but the service was not great for her where she lives (silver spring area) so she had to go back to Verizon. I live in DC and service has never been a problem for me. |
^^ Also meant to add, I have insurance on all our phones too. |
Pp here whose kid is not happy with Tmobile. I was at the high school for back to school night and couldn't get a signal in the building.
Sad to say but school is not a safe place to have a faulty signal! ..... might have to switch back to verizon. Just not sure if i switch all 4 phones again or just have the highschooler on an individual verizon plan because the 3 others of us are fine with tmobile. |
