| What are the dangers of doing this? Can other people track her somehow if I do it? |
| There’s a real danger that you’ll always know where her backpack is located. |
| No there’s no danger of someone else tracking her. |
| We have them on several things, including our dog. |
| I did this last year with both my kids- it wasn’t really that useful but it didn’t hurt! |
| Do they make one small enough to put on a shoe or something else that’s more likely to stay with the child? That seems more useful than on the backpack. |
| This is an incredibly tech-uneducated question but would it be harmful to a child to be exposed to the Bluetooth whatevers all day? I don’t know if Bluetooth radio waves have health effects. |

I consider it good for me and for my kids to not get in the habit of always monitoring them. I never had a video baby monitor, used an audio one only briefly, and do not and do not intend to track my now pre-teens.
I think it is one of those “harmless” things that can get in the way of healthy separation and independence. |

You could clip it to a pant loop or something else. |
They make all kinds of gadgets to hook it to as well - they make one for dog collars. |
Like $300 socks to reassure you that your baby is breathing. There is a whole generation of these parents now. |
But what are the benefits of sticking a tracking device on your child? Do you have reason to think your child is not going to school each day? I’m genuinely curious why people are considering it. |
Good grief |
| When your kid is with any other adult for a period of time they will get an alarming message on their phone that they’re potentially being followed. It’s happened to me and its weird. |
