Who cares if you have to pay the guy five hundred bucks for his opinion. He was the water boy on his team in MD and now "he is expert" - log jammin

I could never figure out the process for who gets stars. So are you saying everyone with stars has paid Ty? If so, that is a giant scam. By the way I have never seen 1 or 2 stars, and very very few 3 stars.

If you have the money and time to go tryout for everything i say go for it.
All these kids do that. they are showcase groupies.

Coaches love watching good play and they have film and live play at tournaments.
I mean- really people, look at what happened to the South Team at the Senior Game. I was looking forward to all of these Studs that were going to some of the choices of my kids. I was looking for what they had, that other kids didn't. I'm still wondering!!!!
They totally tanked.
An over-hyped machine.

I don't think you necessarily have to pay if he/they see you at an event where they are and you get evaluated there. If you look at some of the 2024s that have been graded they show the event where they did the evaluation/grade. Completely agree the stars are a bit out of whack and in the grand scheme of things likely not too important to a kid getting recruited. Look at the current '23 stars and then the committed schools, plenty of 3 stars or "no" stars going to great programs. This is marketing as much as anything and would not advise anyone to pay for an evaluation, that is what you pay those club and tournament fees for. College coaches will do their own evaluations at the events and end of the day those are the only ones that really matter.
