Any recent feedback on the Wheaton academies, especially the computer science academy?
I understand that the Biomedical and Engineering application programs are excellent, but have heard less about the (lottery) academies. My DC is very interested in the computer science academy. Can anyone tell me whether it’s a good fit for kids who already have a great deal of programming experience? DC will have completed the computer science sequence in the TPMS math/science magnet, and basically spends most of their free time at home on programming projects as well. I want to make sure the program would continuously challenge them with new material.
For anyone with knowledge, I’m also interested in knowing whether kids in the lottery academies have access to courses in the Biomedical and Engineering sequences, since I think those would interest DC as well. And, finally, does Wheaton generally have a nice selection of challenging courses (e.g., AP classes) for kids who are very academically motivated?
