Our household currently has COVID. DH and I are on days 7/8 but our DS is on day 4. DH had to go back to his office already so I am trying to work from home but it has been impossible with a 2.5yo who doesn’t mask super well. After we have isolated DS for 5 full days is it fair to ask our nanny to come back on day 6 or are people waiting longer? I will try to get him to wear a mask, but our nanny can certainly mask as well.
Trying to understand what others are doing these days. |
Day 6 will be Saturday. I assume you won’t need her in the weekend. Test him Sunday evening and see if he is negative. Then let nanny decide. |
If not masking, day 10. |
I think it's still 10 days if your child is not vaccinated. |
No, don’t bring her back until DS test negative. Assuming Day 6 is Saturday so your Nanny is back Monday on Day 8.
(I sure hope Nanny is being compensated during this time.) |
If everyone in the house is testing negative and symptoms have resolved, then you could ask her back.
If people are still testing positive, you do not ask her back. Because she is not a help to you if she is sick with covid. |
When our family had it back in January we waited 10 days, per the CDC guideline at the time, since our son was too young to wear a mask. |
When everyone tests negative and let the house air out for a day. |
