What happens? I’m a single mom of a special needs child and would need to get a babysitter, which is hard to do since she has special needs. Is it worth that effort? She’s going to Campbell Elementary, if that matters. |
Last year it was virtual so maybe wait and see what the school says about it. Being virtual had a lot of advantages including childcare!! |
I stopped going to these because I didn't see the point. They talk about the curriculum and what they will be covering that school year, often via a PowerPoint type presentation. I personally am content to just find out as we go what the kids are learning so I don't feel the need to find out ahead of time.
That said, if your DD has special needs you may have more of a desire for this type of information. In that case you could ask if there will be a recording made available. |
Really hoping the virtual trend will continue this year for this… |
This is OP. I don’t think it will be virtual. The webpage or an email we got said something about staggered times. |
I would email your child’s teacher and get their thoughts. |
I am a teacher and not going to either of my own children’s this year. The information will likely be posted or emailed. You don’t get to have real conversations or discuss anything with the teacher. Teachers see so many people, they really don’t remember which parents stopped in and say hi. The night is a blur. |
Don't kids usually come to back to school night? |
No. Its for parents only. Kids go to the open house. |
Even if it’s virtual, there will be staggered times since many families have more than one kid. |
+1 it’s a pre-canned set of slides. The entire grade (team) uses the same slides. The slides are posted. This should just be done virtually bc it’s completely impersonal. There’s little time for anyone to ask questions. Then they shoo you out bc they have to repeat the spiel to the next group. |
