Alternative to Volvo XC60

Anonymous
We’ve had several Volvo XC60s and have enjoyed them. However, we want something different this time. We’re also looking to spend less money and want high reliability. Any ideas?

Mercedes GLC 300. It’s nicer and slightly cheaper.

The redesigned interior for 2023 is … interesting.

Yes it's a fantastic car. However, it's not cheaper than the Volvo XC60

The new Ford Bronco looks great. Have no idea about reliability, though.

It 100% is. When I drove a top xc60 it was $8k more than the GLC300 with the same equipment.

Looking at the websites, the XC60 AWD base price is $46,845 and the GLC300 AWD base price is $45,850. Add a few options and there’s a greater difference.

I just built a top line XC60 with all options, it’s $61k, did the same on the MB site and it’s $55k. I was surprised when shopping them.

Get a Subaru Outback Touring edition. That will run you around $42K and has every option available.

If you’re placing a high value on reliability- then definitely the NX. The new model is a big improvement design-wise over the previous one as well. We’re thinking of trading our CT200h (which has been a spectacularly reliable car after only having Volvos for the previous 15 years) for one as we need something a tad larger with more ground clearance.
