Can anyone share their experience of the elementary schools in Arlington for the following:

NOTTINGHAM
Taylor

How are the teachers/staffs and class room sizes?

DD goes to Taylor. She has been there since KG and is now in 2nd. She loves it. Great teachers and awesome principal. We are very happy.

Another happy Taylor parent here, with a friend whose son is happy at Nottingham.

For stats, you should look at the APS website; we can tell you what's happening at our schools this year, but the county's policies and overall trends are something you need to get from the source.

I have heard nothing but good things about both these schools, but I also know Taylor had a huge, unexpected rise in the number of students who enrolled in K this past fall (2009), and I believe they had to add two new K classes. I don't think that means that it is no longer a good school, but it is an issue they will have to deal with as time goes on, especially if the same thing happens this coming school year and the years after. My own child will be a kindergartner at Glebe in the fall and they too had an additional class of K this past fall and are expecting another big jump this fall, so it is something to think about when buying in N. Arlington.
