| Our 15 year old nasty couch has finally been thrown out. We need a new one for our family of 5 (3 kids under 12). Any recommendations? It’s a narrow front entrance door. It must be comfortable and I am open to buying chair or two to go with it. Budget $4000 or less and can arrive in next 4-6 weeks quickly |

| We bought sofas from Macy’s to go in our row house living room and basement. The deliverymen had to take the legs off of the sofa that went into the basement to fit through the narrow door. Delivery took a couple of weeks from purchase and both sofas have held up well with 2 kids and cats. |
| Agree on macys. What size do you need? We love our sectional from there. Everybody can be together on the couch and sprawl a bit! |

We went to High Point, NC because we really wanted something the right scale and that required a large selection. We did find a couch with small English arms and a shallow depth but with a sufficiently deep seat. Many couches these days are for massive McMansions and those absolutely don't work for a smaller historic home.
You could also look for something vintage, which will likely have a smaller scale, and have it reupholstered. |
