I imagine you mix half cottage cheese, half ricotta. But I'd rather just do light ricotta instead.

I use cottage cheese but blend it in my food processor before layering it in the lasagna. It is then the texture of ricottta.

I use half cottage cheese and half ricotta sometimes. I season it with Italian herbs, garlic powder, pepper, and add an egg to bind.

I use it in place of ricotta, but I only use the 4% milk fat small curd variety

I grew up with it instead of ricotta, not sure if it was for cost or access reasons (rural area). My mom's recipe, which I use, mixes the cottage cheese with frozen spinach and onion.

I've used both ricotta and cottage cheese, but prefer cottage cheese. I use the 4% small curd.

I run the cottage cheese in a food processor and strain it so it's thick. I use as a ricotta replacement
