Dropping off child when adult has Covid

Anonymous
Can I bring my child into daycare if I have Covid? Will obviously mask, but wasn’t sure if it was bad form. School says yes, so I guess it’s ok. Just a gut check I guess. Spouse says yes, absolutely (honestly we need the rest).

What school would possibly say this is fine?

You know your child might have COVID. I think it's extremely inconsiderate. Sure, we all love to rest and relax, but that's quite selfish

Child does not have Covid, child is 7 days post infection.

Yes. If child exhibits symptoms, have them tested. Wear a mask at pick up and drop off and don’t linger.

Uhhhh every school? If the kid does not have Covid, no school is excluding them. APS, FCPS etc. all allowed kids to come even if a family member tested positive.

No

I know the child can attend, but can I physically bring her in since I have Covid? She’s too little to go in by herself.

If you want to ask the provider to meet you outside, it may be worth a shot. Otherwise, wear a good mask and keep it brief.

Just wear a mask and stop with the hysterics.

Don't you normally do drop off outside? I had this situation this spring and I just did drop off normally, but with a mask and kept my distance. It was already outside so that seemed sufficient.

Drop off is inside. I wish we still did outside drop off!

The school says it's fine so I would do it. It's really none of their business anyway. Do you tell them when you have the flu?

Rightly or wrongly the CDC says that you can go out with a mask after 5 days. Not sure where you are in your isolation period but I would feel less guilt if it’s after that initial 5. At that point, you’re totally by the book.

If it’s before I’d try for an outdoor drop off if possible.
