I walk a few miles a day and have been wearing the same sneakers for about 3 months. I’ve recently noticed that my feet and knees hurt a bit. Could that be from my shoes? |
6-8 months |
I never job, but with my active dog, sometimes "walks" get sporty. I still have sneakers from years ago, but I rotate between 3 pairs, so I suppose that's prolonged their life. I also wear different pairs of flats or boots some days of the week, and I believe it keeps my feet from developing issues with the shape of one particular shoe. |
jog, not job. |
Walk 1-2 miles daily and 5k-4mi on Sunday mornings.
Neutral shoe/pronation. Personally prefer Brooks. Shoes tend to last 200-250 miles so 5-6 month. I can get more use out of them but yes, may come with knee/foot/hip/back pain. Some of the foamier shoes are going to have less mileage. Your weight may also play in. |
About 300 miles running |
4-7miles daily running, about 6-8months also |
For those who run, jog, or walk daily as part of an exercise routine, shoes should be replaced about every 3 months. Will vary due to differences such as weight of the individual and whether one runs on a hard or soft surface. Support and cushioning are the areas of concern with respect to running shoes. |
6 to 8 months for me. I walk about 30 miles a week. I have never felt any pain as my shoes wear out - I usually just replace when there is noticeable wear and tear. |
Runner here. I change then at around 400 miles. |
I was just thinking I need new shoes. My shoes are about a year old, I walk about 40 miles a month. Time to replace my Brooks. |
look at the treads on the bottom. they will literally wear out where you can see it. new shoes wouldnt hurt (lots of runners rotate a couple pairs at a time to help minimize wear and imbalances). |
Running shoes last me about 350 to 450 miles and then I use them indefinitely for walking shoes. |
I run/walk 40+ miles a week. My shoes last approximately 3 months before they start to hurt. I have my next 3 pairs in my closet just waiting to be called up. As soon as they start to hurt I change them out immediately as I made that mistake early on in running and I really messed up my feet. |
It could definitely be from your shoes. How supportive are they?
I have Brooks Ghost 14 and had to get insoles from Fleet Feet; completely changed the fit for the better. |
