Best place to buy passionfruit

I want to make myself a mousse with passionfruit for my birthday on Tuesday. I've never bought passionfruit before. Any advice on where to buy it and how to select good/ripe ones? Alternatively, frozen could also work. Thanks!!

I have only seen concentrate. Never the fruit. But maybe one of the Asian markets? Hmart or Great Wall?

Global Food? They're pretty far away but they have wild seasonal produce. Not sure what the season is for passion fruit.

Pitaya Foods makes good frozen passion fruit in bite-sized pieces. I’ve bought it at Mom’s Organic Market.

I’ve seen passion fruits in Giant, Safeway, and Harris Teeter in DC, and Giant out in Wheaton. They are often below the main fruit shelves and hard to see. Only a small basket at a time. They get shriveled ripe I believe and each one only has about 2-3 tablespoons of pulp.

The passion fruit concentrate varies widely. I think I’ve gotten it at La Fonda País In downtown Silver Spring. It’s maracuya in Spanish.

The frozen chunks someone posted are passion fruit purée. The actual passion fruits are pulpy with crunchy seeds so you need to see what your recipe requires. The one I’ve made uses purée in the mousse and pulp to garnish.

OP here. Thanks for all the replies! My WF in Friendship Heights doesn’t carry the fresh ones so I bought the Pitayo frozen chunks cause I’m too lazy to go hunting in other local stores or driving too far out. I don’t quite have a recipe yet but I’m thinking of making a lemon passion fruit curd and adding whipped cream and gelatin. Should work!

The Whole Foods on H street has passion fruit pretty consistently.

You can find it in most grocery store produce departments. It’s expensive. I like it over ice cream.
