We ordered a Y in May. Delivery date has not changed since than except for a narrower window in August. Was 6 week window, now one week. I’m hearing stories of delivery issues but DH insists it’s guaranteed and that he did something to guarantee it. Is this possible? Did he sign away the children? How could this be guaranteed for the delivery window? It’s 2 weeks away and I’m not convinced.
|
| Yes. It might change a little but once you get to the narrow delivery windows it’s pretty accurate. Ours was ordered in early March and delivered in late June of this year. |
| Also no idea what he means by guaranteeing it. You do have to provide prooof of insurance about 2 weeks out. Maybe that’s what he means. I don’t think that guarantees anything though! |
| Yes, we had one delivered this spring and our neighbor had one delivered like 2 weeks ago. |
| Why are you so convinced that your car isn't going to come? Calm down. |
Read the other OP whose car is delayed until 2023. |
| Have you got a VIN? Once you get it, the timeline is fairly accurate (2 weeks). |
|
Xs and Ys have had longer wait times.
We just got our model 3 after a few month wait. And my cousin got a model s earlier this year after a few month wait as well. |
| Yes. We ordered our Model 3 in February and picked it up in March. Very quick! |
Once it goes down to a one week window it means your build is actually being produced and you’ll get the VIN soon. Don’t worry. |
| There are so many better EVs in the market at this point. Cancel if you can and go for a different car that won't prop up Elon. |
Elon is a total DB but unfortunately at this point there aren’t “so many better EVs on the market” when you look at features, range, charging stations, etc. Give it a few more years. He had a big head start. |
