Smoked whitefish?

Our family is about to head to northern Michigan for vacation and it looks like smoked whitefish is a popular food up there and there is a good fishmonger where we'll be staying. For those who have had smoked whitefish, what do you do with it? Is it something you eat with bagels or is it typically eaten some other way?

I just put it on bagels or toast, plain or on top of some cream cheese or butter, or get whitefish salad and do the same.

mouth watering just thinking about it... anything you'd do with tuna or egg salad. I do think it tends to be richer than tuna salad. Guessing they'll have good ideas wherever you buy it too!

I like it with onions marinated in vinegar. Prefer wine vinegar, but white would also work.
