Weekend Couples Destination to Celebrate Anniversary

Anonymous
Any suggestions for weekend destinations, in driving distance, for an anniversary trip? My husband and I are celebrating our anniversary in a couple weeks and my parents volunteered to take care of our daughter for the weekend. My husband and I visited Wintergreen last fall and enjoyed it - I would consider going back but wonder if there are other fun places to explore? I've never been but read mixed reviews on Greenbrier. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I haven't been to the Greenbriar since I was a child, but it and the Homestead were always very nice years ago. Other places I've recently visited and/or heard about:

Inn at Perry Cabin (St. Michael's, Maryland) - very quaint town and hotel with a WONDERFUL restaurant on the water - http://www.perrycabin.com/web/omic/inn_at_perry_cabin.jsp

Nemacolin Resort (Farmington, PA) - http://www.nemacolin.com/

I also had a very nice anniversary weekend this year in Annapolis. We stayed at the Loews Hotel. They have a nice (albeit small) spa there.

Last year DH & I took the train to NYC for a weekend. We saw a Mets game, enjoyed nice dinners, did some shopping & walked around the city.
Another weekend we went to National Harbor. Had dinner there, then took the water taxi to brunch in Alexandria the next morning. But I wouldn't stay more than one night or you'll probably run out of things to do (it's not that large an area).
