Did NYCityMoms disappear?

I’ve had the same experience. Maybe the site got hacked or the administrator didn’t want to run it anymore. They were also the target of a lot of spam.

So it looks like nycitymoms is indeed gone and it wasn't just a lapse in paying the subscription fee. Did she it give a heads up at all? Two years, and no 'sorry, just to let you know I won't continue this anymore'?

I can't believe that DCUM has such a thriving message board with incredibly specific and (sometimes) very helpful information and we could never do that with NYC. UrbanBaby was so fun and I miss it but it was overrun by trolls and insane people a lot of the time. In its heyday it was great through. YouBeMom is... fine. NYCityMoms was pretty dead but at least had some specific information. It's nice that this website has a NYC forum but the threads rarely get more than a few answers. Really disappointing.

That's because it takes time and dedication to run a forum. Kudos to the team behind DCUM.
We had a thriving message board back when UB was still privately owned and in the first few years when Cnet/CBSi thought they could make good money out of it. Whoever set up youbemom has long abandoned that site and it shows.

I think the woman behind nycitymoms was in over her head without realizing how much effort it can be to keep up a well maintained site. I don't blame her but at the very least she could've given us all a heads up.

The trolls were irritating, but I really, really miss urbanbaby. Could be outrageous but also super super helpful. There's no other resource now that is as helpful as UB.
