White workout shirt that’s NOT see through or cropped

Anonymous
This seemed more like a fit for an exercise forum than a fashion forum

I don’t want to be fashionable or trendy! All i want is a workout shirt that’s not skin tight, not see through and not cropped.
I made the mistake of asking in Lululemon (shipping with DD) if they had any white tops that weren’t see through and after a little shock and sputtering, they were able to point me to some crop tops…. I’m just your average sized middle aged mom who wants a shirt that doesn’t show my stomach, cleavage or back fat - is that asking too much?

Hopefully someone has some recommendations!

Lululemon's Sculpt Tank. There's a cropped version, but get the regular version. Dries very quickly. There's a small mesh portion on the upper back shoulders, but overall it's pretty solid. I would say it runs a little large, so order your regular size if you want a little room. Admittedly I don't like the high neck, but if you size up it'll be more roomy.

Athleta speedlight - comes in tank, short sleeves, and long sleeves with thumb holes. The speedlight is the ONLY shirt I wear for working out. They are thick enough to provide good coverage but lightweight and quick-drying. They have ruching around the waist to be super flattering and silicone nubs along the waist to keep the shirt in place. Truly awesome.

Not for working out! It would be a sweaty clingy mess. I like the tops from CRZ Yoga on Amazon which are dupes of Lululemon swiftly tees. The white ones are not see through.

This is completely see through. Even looking at the website - you can see every single detail of her workout bra.

I like this from Beyond Yoga. I have a few colors with white being one.

Outdoor Voices Everyday Short Sleeve. There is a women's version that is slightly boxier and shorter (NOT a crop top, just hits at or above your hip) or a unisex version that is longer. Not see through.

I also like the tank version, though be warned the arm holes are larger and you will be able to see your sports bra.

This is why I never wear white workout tops. Too see-through.

Does it HAVE to be white?

That’s great. But I own 5 of them and wear a dark gray bra and can tell you they are not see-through.

I don't own this shirt but I looked at the short sleeve version and you can just see the faint outline of her sports bra in the white shirt? That's pretty good for a white workout shirt -- total opacity would require the fabric to be so thick as to be impractical. But this shirt is clearly not sheer.

I’m specifically looking for a white shirt for tennis. I have to wear at least half white and it’s nice to have an option to wear something not-white to minimize my butt. I’m not quite a kardashian, but my butt is not small and dark skirts are definitely more flattering.

Thanks for all the suggestions- I’m going shopping online now!

Got it. I assume you've checked tennis-specific athletic wear? The tennis clothing from Nike or Adidas might have better options. Check women's golf shirts, too. I have a few Nike sleeveless golf shirts that would work for tennis. They are moisture-wicking but thicker material than my running and yoga stuff from Athleta and Lululemon.
