| Did anyone get a look at the new Covid plan/guidelines that MCPS published on their website yesterday before they took it down? I saved the link but it doesn't work any more and didn't get a chance to read it in detail before it went down. Judging from past practice and the fact that MCPS had to take it down only hours after it was made public, I'm assuming it was a hot mess of a plan, but I was encouraged that they at least had something in place at this point. Anyone have a sense of what was in there? |
| I saw it. Someone posted it in another group. Same as last year no precautions and no masking. They said they will only shut down if the state shuts them down. It was really strange they pulled it. Then the county announces we hit high transmission. It really did not saw much else. They will keep all the free tutoring. And they made a huge stink about attendance. |
| There is no need for a plan that is much different than last year. |

| I think they’re just going to start off in the fall similarly to how they ended in the spring. If there’s a surge, you may not have a bus driver and your kid may be sitting in an auditorium being babysat with 100 others not really learning if enough staff are out sick. Unless the cdc gets rid of the 5 day isolation, mcps won’t change that procedure. |
| Will they have weekly covid testing? |
I hope not, but if they do, we will most certainly opt out of that nonsense. |

Can you imagine the spread of covid if they do the auditoriums given this variant is far more contagious? How quickly will they be posting here complaining abotu that. |
Absolutely. I am on day 5 of Covid right now and if I were your kids teacher, I would be coughing all over them in class tomorrow. |
Fine by me. Stay home if you feel sick otherwise go to work. We’ve got to move on. |
Same here. Stay home if you have a fever or feel terrible and can’t do your job. Otherwise, I’m not afraid of my kid’s teacher having a cough. |
So do you even Covid test or just assume a cold and ignore? |
Why would you go into work if you’d be coughing all over the students? I agree with the pp who said, “Stay home if you feel sick”. ES Teacher |
Of course I would not do that. I am just saying that after 5 days of Covid I still feel contagious...but it sure sounds like the PP would just have me treat it as a cold and move on. They would send their kids in with the same "cold" |
