Help me with my fish tacos

Anonymous
I make these simple fish tacos I really like. With pan fried tilapia or flounder, shredded cabbage, and a mix of guacamole+sour cream.

Ideas for adding a spice element or anything else to improve this? In the coming weeks, our daycare and work schedule shifts, so I have to take over dinner duty from my wife more often. Thanks.

Do you like mangoes? Mango and habanero salsa can add some spice and sweetness.

What do you do with the cabbage? We make a slaw similar to this recipe with mayo, lime, jalapeño, seasoning

I personally think they need some fresh cilantro, but realize not everyone's on board with that. I also like a few slices of fresh jalapeno.

Yeah you need some green salsa, grilled / smoked peppers and onions.

Sweet chili sauce.

Bread your fish with crushed Taki.

You’re welcome.

There's fresh cilantro in the guac. Love it!

If you want a change of pace, frozen crispy shrimp are awesome in tacos. Just lop off the tails.

I make a pineapple salsa with mint, jalapeño, lime juice, and pineapple. I make guacamole with avocado, lime juice, salt, pepper, and cumin. Add some cheese and cholula.

We also make a vinegar based coleslaw with the cabbage and add jalepeno and lime. I add a spice rub to the fish before pan frying, basically a mix of cumin, paprika, chili powder, onion/garlic powder and salt and you could ramp up the chili powder.

Lol, I just throw fish sticks in a tortilla and hit with condiments. You are doing great!
