Elrich blames the county board of elections for count delays

And this is why i loathe the man. It’s always someone else’s fault.

1) he doesn’t understand the process and judges anyway.
2) these are HIS employees and he just throws them under the bus. He staffs them. He funds their resources. A real leader would take responsibility. Not blame.
3) both the county employees AND the citizen volunteers are working their asses off. They should be getting praise from the County Executive.

I thought it was Hogan's fault? Is Elrich a Republican?

I agree with everything EXCEPT county employees "working their asses off". Perhaps? But they only need to put in a hard shift once every two years. I think we should expect more.

Typical Elrich. It's always someone else's fault. Never mind these employees are under his purview. No surprise that he's not well-loved by the rank-and-file county workers.

I agree they've been working their butts off. It's an unexpectedly high number of mail-in votes. They're counting 10-20k per day.

Ballots have to be examined by both a democrat and republican or independent volunteer for the vote to count. Those are volunteers, typically elderly. Granny can't move that fast.

Every county in Maryland has completed their full vote count at this stage except for Montgomery County, who still have not completed mail-in ballots and haven’t even started with provisional ballots. There can be no more excuses for what is clearly incompetence.

Well then Elrich is incompetent because he’s their boss.

I don't understand why it takes such a long time. I was stunned that the France election had all the results I believe within an hour of the polls closing. Why can't it be like that here? The longer it goes on, the more distrust is created.

Which is exactly why RCV is a bad idea. Can you imagine every election taking weeks to count with multiple permutations. No one would believe the results.

Surely. Poor leadership and lack of care or attention to competent governance is why progressive politics are nonsense.

Counting beyond ten is a challenge for most.

Was he? It seemed to me that a journalist was asking him about it and he said he doesn't care and that it doesn't affect him. - Blair voter
