| Guys, this is gross and embarrassing, but my 10 year old still doesn’t wipe good. Constantly has skid marks in his underwear and I’m at a loss as to what to do. I have gotten on to him, make him show me he is wiping good, clean his own underwear, etc. but after a short time he goes right back to poor wiping. Often times so bad he gets a rash and needs diaper rash cream. He is way too old for this. Am I alone? Any pointers? |
| Get a bidet. It will be weird to use at first but so worth it. |
| Same here. No idea when that will change. |
|
Sanitary faucet.
|
| Make him do his own laundry. Make him buy new underwear if he ruins it by not wiping. Teach him to do better. |
| It may not be poor hygiene. He may be constipated and leaking a little stool around a blockage. Kids often don't even realize it's happening and their underwear is a mess. |
Make a 10 year old buy new underwear? No, he may have a hemorrhoid he can't clean. |
+1 Or megacolon- large poops hard to hold in. |
| He knows how because when he knows I’m watching and making him show me he wiped till paper is clean he does fine. Will last about a week and then he gets lazy again. I absolutely should not be having to put diaper cream on my 10 year old!! |

Get him the water wipes/baby wipes. Set on top of the toilet. Done. And make sure he knows not to flush them.
Or..just tell him to wet the TP |
And buy darker underwear |
You watch your 10 yo wipe? 😬 |
This is nuts. Cruel. Humiliating. Wow. OP have you consider he has some gastrointestinal problem that makes his poop super soft & messy! |
Yep, the bidet will help. |
Omg. Classic DCUM. Yep. It is megacolon... OP- half of grown men (maybe more) don’t wipe well either. I worked in ER and more often than not, the underwear men came in with were pretty gross and/or had skid stains. Not all, but a very significant percentage |
