Using neighborhood amenities if you don't have a house

Anonymous
I'm curious, for those of you who maybe only own a lot that you haven't built on yet, do you use the neighborhood's amenities? Pool, tennis courts, workout facility, etc? We do pay HOA dues, which won't change once we build. If it's allowed, is it socially frowned upon?

It's fine if the HOA allows it and i don't see why they would not.

You would need passes etc but given you own the land and pay your dues why would this be an issue?

+1. If you are paying, have passes and it’s frowned upon consider yourselves lucky to find out before you build. Get out while you can.

Not sure. Just wanted to run it by a few people before I asked in case I was way off base even asking.

I would definitely use them! Not weird at all.

If I’m paying for it, I’m using it. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Forgiveness rather than permission it is. It's in a beach town, so it felt off, but you're right - we're paying for it. Thanks!

I can’t see why anyone would object to this.

Of course you can use it! You’re paying for it.

I would have zero reservations about using. You are paying the dues. This is a non issue.
