| OK...I am hearing so much about GT, and I am new to the whole public school experience. What age do students start gt? Do parents or teachers encourage testing? What tests do students take? When does the process begin? I highly doubt that I have gt child, just curious. TIA. |

Testing in grade 2. GT starts grade 3. Google FCPS AAP

| To add to PP. All kids are tested. You really never know which kids are gifted. Some of the obvious smart kids in the class are just very bright, not gifted. Some of the quieter ones fly under the radar and no one really knows. |
