Outdoor dining near National theater?

We are taking our 14 year old to see a show Tuesday night. Any recommendations? Not too fancy.

It’s too hot to sit outside.

Elephant and Castle. Make a reservation.

-Jaleo: has outdoor seating. They (used to, maybe still do) have a pre-theater menu.

-Shake Shack has outdoor seating.

I also like taking take-out to the courtyard area of the Portrait Gallery (closes at 7 pm). Five Guys on H Street is the best Five Guys in DC.

MXDC on 14th Street at F has some outside tables and isn’t far away. I don’t know if you can reserve those however.

I can't recall if Cafe du Parc at the Willard has outdoor seating; I know that there is some at the restaurant at the Hotel Washington / previous W hotel.

Good idea with a youngster in tow.

The food at MXDC is terrible. Cosign for Elephant and Castle for the 14 year old or Central or Zaytinya (5 block walk) if they are more of a foodie

Roti has outdoor seating if you want fast casual. So does Puro Gusto Cafe.

Any other ideas for restaurants near National Theater? I don’t need outdoor seating, but do need some vegetarian options that aren’t fish.
