Magic Merlin sleep sack at day care?

Anonymous
My six month old is starting daycare next week. He has been sleeping soundly in the crib but only with a Magic Merlin sleep sack on.

The cribs are sparse at day care and I know that my infant will have a huge fit when in the crib.

Should I give day care the sleep sack or just keep it at home for naps and night sleeping? I don’t know how safe it is and they only check on sleeping babies every 20 minutes.

I’m worried that he will just CIO until he falls asleep.

Don’t bother with it. It’s a production for the day care workers, and they’ll probably work their magic to get him napping with the rest of the kids in his cohort.

I totally understand the impulse to send it, though. The Merlin’s Magic sleep suit really was magical for our DS1. I also tried sending it to daycare when he first started and the workers looked at me like I was from the moon. He was napping well in less than two weeks.

Oh that’s great to hear! Thank you!

I own a licensed day care center and we encourage the parents to bring in sleep sacks and anything else that would make their little ones or the parents more comfortable. I would not tolerate one of my teachers "looking at a parent" like they were from the moon for making such a request.

Also 13:44 we pay our teachers very well and give great benefits so we do appreciate our teachers very much but we also expect them to be very warm and welcoming and comforting to parents. It is sad not all centers feel that way.
