| True. But I went down the rabbit hole of twitter last night, amazed and at times, shocked by what people are writing on both sides (Elrich vs. Riemer). People seem......a little nuts. I don't think many decided Riemer voters will be swayed tomorrow to change their vote and strategically vote against Elrich. |
| Thanks for reminding me to vote for Elrich! |
| I’m not an Elrich fan but the fact that he got Jamie Raskin’s endorsement is giving me second thoughts. |
|
Not voting for Blair....I don't trust him at all.
People I trust seem to trust Elrich more than Blair. I'd like to vote for Riemer, though, and maybe I still will. But it is making me feel a little like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS2Bsq5PDmU |
Hope for the best that you won’t need police. |
It’s easy to get caught up in Twitter and confuse what’s going on there with real life. That’s the problem with Hans and his army online harassers. It’s great for entertainment, but if you look closely you see that it’s very few people and even fewer who care about about this stuff and a big chunk of this small group of people don’t live in Montgomery County. What you don’t see on Twitter are all of the people that you know: your neighbors, colleagues, etc. The median county voter is probably over 50 years old and if they use social media it’s probably only Facebook. People don’t have time for this nonsense. |
Frankly, I don’t know how you can call out his “harassers” for nonsense without calling Hans out for it himself. He has the most negative campaign of any local politician. His constant attacks toward Blair and Elrich are repulsive. |
It’s pretty gross. And to make matters worse, he refused to own it. He posted today something about not letting anyone buy the election (obviously referring to Blair). Meanwhile, he’s got his Takoma Park buddies managing a SuperPAC with funds from a California billionaire. |
Also, he recently sent out a mailer that says he’s running a positive campaign. Does he think we’re stupid enough to conclude all the negative ads had to be from another Hans Riemer running for the same office and using the same logo? |
Riemer’s unfavorables doubled in the last poll. People here aren’t dumb and realize what kind of campaign Riemer is running. All he has are lies and attacks. |
Is it that? Does he think we are stupid, or is that how he really sees it? I only ask because I got a Jawando flyer that said his police reform efforts are making the community safe. What he means is safe from police, despite the fall-out that has impacted, at least to some degree, the level of community violence we are experiencing now. I wonder more if the politicians are simply deluding themselves with their own lies. And we are secondary as they enhance their own career aspirations. |
| There's. No. Such. Thing. As. A. Wasted. Vote. |
But there is such a thing as a harmful vote. |
