How can I they be so damn wrong
The report 3-5 hours a go said that it would be thunderstorms rain from 1pm-10pm, we almost cancelled our plans It never rained and now it is clear the entire night Wtf, who is in charge of these weather reports, get it together it's 2022 it should be 99% accurate with computer and ai |
OP are you new to DC? |
This happens regularly, OP. Meteorology is heavily math-based, but is still difficult to predict, even though we've made enormous progress in the past few decades. I don't think we'll reach 100% accuracy in our lifetimes! |
Raining in Bethesda |
Why didn't you look at the radar and see if there was a blob of rain coming your way?
The forecast for this area is a generalized one bc this "area" is HUGE...all the way up to Braddock Mtn in MD, Eastern Shore, South to Spotsylvania, and west towards the fringe of Fauquier Co . With the topography, you'll have to realize storms will sometimes break apart crossing over the Blue Rodge, but then regain strength crossing over the Chesapeake or Potomac. So, yea, some of those areas might be getting rain all day while other areas don't |
Has to be. Anyone who's lived her for a couple of years knows that this is what every day is like until mid-September or so. Every day there's a risk of thunderstorms. Every day it's hit or miss. That's just how the weather is for summer in this area. |
It’s pouring and thundering in Kensington right now.
What I think is really wrong is the weather.com app that tells you the percent chance of thunderstorms by the hour. That is never right. It uses some computer algorithm. |
In the past the government did cloud seeding to have rain release before hitting areas. Then the environmentalists got upset so now we're back to the stone age |
