Tiny hair ties that don't rip out hair?

Anonymous
Anyone have a recommendation? My 2 year old's hair is super fine/thin and those little clear elastic bands rip out too much hair. Also open to small hair clips that will stay in!

Goody has covered rubber bands and they come in a few colors.

The trick is to buy the clear elastic bands in bulk and just cut them out and throw them away.

Buy the stretchy cloth hairbands - "scunci ponytailers"

I use the clear elastic bands but only loop them once or twice (max three times) so they come out easily.

We had the same problem and she always squirmed when I tried to cut them out which made me nervous. Found these and have had good luck: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071ZSSL3Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Only the terrycloth ones were safe for my child: here's one example:

When she was a toddler, they were too large and needed a lot of twisting around the hair, but at least they didn't break her hair.

I also used little clips but only bought the ones that were completely covered in velvet.

The linked terrycloth ones also worked for my DD and Dollar Tree has them !

My child's daycare did not allow the clips as a choking hazard.

I think they have been discontinued, but Invisibobble Nano is exactly what you want. They’re still on eBay at least!

If you go with elastic and cut out, we got little tools made for the job that were super helpful. Dont try it with anything else.

This may be completely obvious I guess, but i didn't know.

We use a dab of lemon essential oil to break the little clear ties.
