Arlington Flag football—when are games etc?

Anonymous
Hoping there’s some current parents who can let me know when and where practices are?? There’s very little information online and I emailed the contact but haven’t heard back and they only have a voicemail. This is for third grade and just trying to find out generally speaking where/when practices and games are? Is it all over or one field? Are placed based on your school? What days/window of times are games? Practices up to the coach?

Games are Sundays. Ours were at W&L, but they have different fields. Times for third grade will probably be around 2pm Sunday, if I had to guess. Maybe 3pm. At least based on the spring. Practices will be whenever your coach wants. It said 2x a week.

Practices are not necessarily up to the coaches, they’re based on the limited field time/space available in Arlington.. They are competing against tons of other sports in the area. This is why hardly any sports can tell you ahead of time what days/times your practices will be.

For rec sports, coaches generally have the choice of what night/time their team practices at. They aren't getting turf fields, it will be at random ES school fields.

Are the games really on Sunday not Saturday? I’m asking as the parent of a sixth grader (we’ve got so much on Saturdays - and we’ve been dying to see the game schedule, which I don’t think has been released).

Generally 4th through HS play on Saturdays starting at about 9 AM and run to 8 PM or so. Younger kids generally have earlier scheduled games than older kids. These games are usually at WL. 1-3rd grade generally play on Sunday at Wakefield.

Crossing my fingers that 6th graders are in the afternoon not the morning.

If anyone has the scoop on what time the 5th and 6th grade coed teams are likely to play, I’m all ears!

Ok, so it looks like schedule “windows” are coming out today. I wonder why things got pushed back.

They sent an email to parents

“ Coaches and Parents,

We hope that you had a great summer and are as excited as we are for the fall flag football season!

We are writing to share a change in the schedule. To ensure we get the most out of the flag screening games, we are postponing the pre-season and round robin screening games by two weeks. This allows players additional practice and preseason play to ensure all teams are prepared for the screening games and start of the season.”

Upcoming polar season - are the game days/times by grade level basically the same as the regular season?

For fall, our games were Saturdays. They were supposed to be Sundays. Massive pain with scheduling soccer and baseball. Games were at W&L for third grade. They also play at Wakefield, I believe.

I heard they weren’t doing a polar season. Where did you see that?
