WWYD with a small "bedroom"

Anonymous
We just bought a house that has enough bedrooms for us and the kids with an extra "bedroom" that's 6'3 x 11'9. So pretty small. The previous owners used it as a guest room but it really only fits a full sized bed and that's it. None of work from home so we don't really need an office so... what would you do with this space? Tiny workout room? Big storage closet? Small library? Looking for some ideas - thanks!

Do you have upstairs laundry?

We have a slightly larger space that the prior owners used as a kids “office” / homework room.

I’d do an office/cozy reading space but also keep a few free weights, a yoga ring, and a yoga mat up there.

Storage closet. Or set it up as a walk-in closet. You can use portable, rolling hanging racks, that type of thing. But mostly, wait. Wait and see how you use it, that's how it's used. That's your answer.

Storage for sure. My dream is to have an organized storage room with a ton of nice shelving where everything is labeled and put in its place.

If you don’t otherwise have a guest room, keep it as a guest room! I love having a dedicated place to put overnight guests. If it’ll fit, include a cozy chair and tiny table with a reading lamp and then it can double as a reading book.

Home office or kids library/craft room. Even if you don’t work from home, where do you keep all the house management stuff? So many things are electronic these days but I still like having a space where I can process bills etc that’s not on my ipad in front of the tv.

Small guest rooms are perfect! Then guests only stay a few days I also use our tiny guest room when DH is sick and I want a good night’s sleep.
