Mostly just a rant. We’ve been using the same daycare with our two children over the past seven years. We’re in the home stretch, with one daycare year before kindergarten for our youngest, and they’re raising it by $475/month. I get we’re heading towards a recession and there’s inflation, but wtaf.
Low key thinking about just letting my kid just wander around the backyard for a year while I work from home. |
That's cheap. I assume that you are not in the DMV? |
You were only paying $1350? You should be happy you had that for as long as you did. |
Good help is hard to find.
If they’re providing a nurturing environment for your child, it’s going to cost you. |
It is frustrating to face such a large increase. They've probably been needing to increase rates for a few years but were putting it off. If you can't afford it, find something else, but if you can, just pay up for the year. The child care sector is hurting. The workers have been subsidizing the care by accepting such low wages. |
They've probably had to raise wage to keep workers. |
Lots of sympathy at DCUM. Sorry, OP. |
