| Only five weeks in and morning/all day sickness is so bad. Doctor prescribed zofran which helps but still nauseous. Any creative ideas. I’m miserable here. |
| I did the b6/unisom combo to help |
|
I had the same with my son. Not with my daughters. Zofran never helped me and mine lasted until almost 20 months. Ugh! The only things that helped me were real ginger and saltines, and I had to keep full. If I ate or snacked regularly, it helped keep away some of the nausea.
Good luck, OP! |

Ginger chews - worth every penny

| I second eating constantly. I gained 65 pounds in my pregnancy which my OB and I were really concerned about (though I lost it all by 5 months pp) because eating was the only thing that kept the nausea at bay. That, and Diclegis, which is a pill that essentially combines Unisom and B6. I took it until the day I delivered. |
| le digestiff tea from david's helped me |
Eat smart though. Protein over carbs. I know it’s so hard, but protein staves the nausea off longer and you will have less nausea over all. |

Ginger chews, preggy pop candy and ginger beer.
It's tough, good luck. |
| Diclegis was tough for me because I had to drive and work, but I was able to take STD when it was very bad and then negotiate some WFH to manage. Two things I found that helped were exercise and acupuncture. Although it was very hard, if I felt ok, I went for a brisk walk or did something more intense. The days I did this made a big difference, but it was often impossible. With my second pregnancy I vomited and had severe headaches up through about 30 weeks. It was awful. |

I needed Diclegis along with the Zofran, OP. The latter (mostly) knocked out my puking but did very little for the nausea. Diclegis helped more with that.
Hang in there! |
| Nothing I found ever helped with it (cleared up at around 22 weeks, and I did all the above plus accupressure bracelets, ginger teas, so much ginger ale I still can't stand it, etc.), but one thing I learned later is that there are studies that show morning sickness is negatively associated with miscarriage. So all the aunties who told me "that means the pregnancy is strong!" were right, which I would have taken some comfort in had I realized it. Instead I was rolling my eyes at the 'old wives tale' while feeling like death. |

preggie pops (can get them on amazon) or even just lemon drop hard candies
Sea bands With my second baby I had HG and had to be hospitalized, but before it got to that point, I just accepted that anything I ate would come up, and ate accordingly. Anything tomato or grapefruit was awful coming back up. Cucumbers and plain baked potato was ok coming back up. |
| I am the PP who took Diclegis until delivery. I agree with the other pp that at first Diclegis made me so exhausted and groggy I couldn’t drive or function, but that mostly evened out after I lowered my dosage to taking only 10mg 2x a day instead of the recommended 4. It also took time. I was destroyed the first two months but then I felt mostly ok after my body got used to it, so give it time. |

-try to stay full with someone on your stomach, even if it’s a smoothie
it’s worse when you’re on an empty stomach - drink lots of water, stay hydrated - drink sparkling water with grayed fresh ginger LOVED IT - find foods that keep your stomach full - take baths at night to help relax you for sleep - seabands and ginger chews |
| Pickled ginger, the pink stuff that comes with sushi. You can buy jars at sushi area in some groceries, or at an Asian market. It was the only thing that helped me. |
