What is the best foaming shave cream and disposable razor you have found to minimize facial bumps and rashes?
I'm trying to subtly change the system for an elderly gentleman that's very set in his ways. He's a Barbasol/Pure Silk (girly version of Barbasol) guy and currently uses Gillette Fusion 5 disposable razors. Most of his life he used single blade safety razors but now prefers disposable. Waxing is definitely not an option and he's just too frugal to have the barber do a good shave. Do any gentlemen, or bearded ladies, have suggestions that are better than what he's currently using but not so completely different that he won't even try them? I'd like to stick to disposable razors and pump-type foaming shaving cream. All price points and suggestions welcome, thanks in advance! |

I use:
Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel with Oat for Sensitive Skin And: Gillette SkinGuard Razors |
| Barbasol aloe shaving cream. |
| If he’s using Gillette Fusion 5 razors almost anything else on the market will be less expensive. Gillette’s motto should be “You can buy better but you can’t pay more.” |
You are right about that! He spent most of his life scrimping and saving so he could get to the point now where he doesn’t care what things cost. I guess he earned it but I agree razors in general are rip offs! I bought the skin guard razors per the pp suggestion. He seemed keen to try them so I call that success. I’m still looking for another shaving cream, I think one change is enough for this month though. Thanks to everyone for your helpful suggestions! |
| Get something without that strip on it. Those are really bad for sensitive skin. I'm a woman BTW. My experience is buying disposable razors for my kids. FYI. |
