Texas GOP - already putting us in jail

Anonymous
Is there really no thread on this? W/ all the lawyers I assume that are on DCUM:

https://www.abajournal.com/news/article/texas-gop-group-warns-sidley-partners-could-be-prosecuted-if-the-firm-pays-abortion-travel-costs

So on the one hand, the GOP is so absolutely full of sh!T they will say anything and do nothing. Bc most are too stupid, fat and lazy. Look at Trump, laziest POS ever waited until the last minute to try to steal the election and so he failed.

On the other hand, sometimes, they find others who don’t think exercise will kill you. And they actually do some crazy sh!t.

They gonna lock up some big law partners?

And are law firms going to back out of their promises?

My god, why are republicans so obsessed w me?

(Female, law firm partner, child bearing age, pro choice)

This is insane. The fact that they call themselves "The Freedom Caucus" is just pure Orwellian double-speak.

I think that’s their point.

I forget which tweet I read but it was something to the effect that the GOP took inspiration from all the dystopian fiction of the 20th century.

When they say freedom they really are only talking about freedom for men of a particular color.

That's why businesses will start leaving controlling states. Easy fix for Sidley Austin and others.

It won't happen at all. They'll all comply with the law and move along. As long as large corporations are headquartered in Texas, law firms and banks that service them will colocate.

You can be barred in Texas but practice from an office outside of Texas.

Interesting that the Texas Freedom Caucus targeting only Sidney for this letter and not any of the other big law firms with offices in Texas who have committed to the same thing.

There is no practical reason to co-locate these days.

Does Sidney take on a lot of liberal causes and clients?
