Ordering food online for in-store eating

Anonymous
Why can't I place in an order to eat in the store? I got lunch today but I know my order takes 20-30 minutes to cook. I don't want to wait for it. So I ordered online and told them when I arrived I was eating it for there. But why don't any places allow you an "eat in" option when you order online or even on the phone?

In what stores do you eat? Generally stores don't want people eating or drinking there.

Table availability.

Inability to adapt to changing consumer expectations. You should suggest it to the manager, OP.

This was at a restaurant, obviously.

Aren't I giving them better table availability by not sitting there an extra 20 minutes waiting for my food?

Obviously table availability, but if they have room at the bar, why not ask?

I do this at Tatte bc the food takes forever. What stops you from doing this? I go in and sit at a table. When my order is ready, I get it off the pick up shelf and eat it.

Can you explain what table availability has to do with it? This wasn't a sit down and order place, it was at the counter.

Yes I can take the items from the pick up area and sit down at a table, but I prefer the tray and to stay silverware, I don't like using a lot of plastic.
