Anyone have experience with University of Maryland Global Campus? A cousin from out of state was recommended to look into one of their programs for a master's degree. Since I'm local they wanted to know if I knew anything about it. It looks pretty legit online for both online and in person classes, but it's hard to tell.
Anyone know more? |
| I went to UMD first. Second degree at UMUC ( previous name). The UMUC professors were much better. |
It is the pioneer of online classes and courses. They have been doing it longer than almost everybody. |
| i got my degree from there after spending time on campus at college park. my classes were in the same buildings, some of the same professors, some online. I liked it better because everyone taking the classes were more serious about it and the class discussions and projects were more like the real word instead of rehashed high school projects and papers |
| This is op. Thank you for the personal reviews! That sounds great! It looked like a lot of the profs are practitioners in some of the programs, which could lead to interesting content beyond academia. Browsing through there are a couple classes I want to take. Glad it's not a diploma mill but it's hard to tell from the outside. |
| I’ve interviewed people from UM Global Campus and I didn’t like any that I interviewed with. |
PP Again- My impression was it is a 4 year community college. |
Read this and say you still think that..... https://www.umgc.edu/administration/policies-and-reporting/institutional-data/facts-at-a-glance |

It’s for non-traditional students, also known as people who are juggling their degrees with the actual real life of jobs, families, etc.
Totally legit. |
Lol I've hired over many years and many entry level employees 5 graduates from Harvard and 4 of them didn't work out well. Clearly it's a crap school. |
