Wasn't the Heller Case the landmark case that interpreted the 2nd amendment as allowing an individual rights to bear arms?
I mean, if the Supreme Court could change their minds on abortion being a constitutional right, maybe then the interpretation of 2A could be reevaluated? |
| Not by these guys. |
|
Absolutely. There is no more “established law”.
Everything being done now will be undone. And then some. The GOP opened the door. |
| We just need liberal justice to overturn it. The current monsters won’t. They’re all about mass shootings and forced births for women. |
Yes!!! We need a long term plan to get justices on the court that will do that. |
| Heller was based on the text of the Second Amendment; there is no corresponding text in the constitution regarding abortion. |
| Of course it can if some of these people die and we can get some justices who care about people's lives on the court |
Heller overturned 100+ years of 2nd Amendment precedent and shared judicial understanding of the text. It was a radical decision by some phonies pretending to be "textualists" (a meaningless phrase) |
OP here - yes, this is what I mean. |
| How many crimes have been committed in the District of Columbia (which is where the suit originated) with a legally registered handgun since the Heller decision was handed down? |
No idea, would you like to inform us, what's your point? |
|
Not only is it possible to overturn Heller, it’s absolutely essential that it be overturned.
Without doing so, there will be no way to force widespread gun confiscation from the public, and therefore no way to ignite the next civil war within the country. So it’s absolutely critical that Heller be overturned. |
Millions. Possibly even billions. |
| Sure. Supreme Court Constitutional analysis has been reduced to the level of bad faith Internet arguments. At this point, it's just a bunch of words obscuring the raw use of power. Advocates of safe gun laws just have to get enough power. |
| Of course not. Jesus was pro weapon, pro violence, and pro gun, and the Supreme Church doesn't go against Jesus (if it suits their agenda.) |
