Dew point 70 but humidity 47 — wet bulb 70 — why does it feel so hot when humidity seems low?

So CWG got me turned into dew point years ago, and 70 is definitely on the edge of sultry. But I’m surprised to see such low humidity of 47% with such high dew point. I’ve googled and Wikipedia but haven’t found a good explanation of how they relate.

I hear the new new thing is the wet bulb temp, which is 70 today — which is the edge of where it gets uncomfortable.

Either way I feel more uncomfortable today than several weeks ago that were warmer, but maybe it’s me.

I use Apple Weather (RIP Dark Sky), WeatherBug, and Carrot apps

The hotter it is, the more moisture the air can hold. If the air has 47% humidity when it is cold, that is much less water in the air than 47% humidity when it is warm. Dew point is always going to be the objective measure, I believe. I do think that if today is more awful for you it might just be you getting sick of this heat (that's how I feel anyway).

Haha yeah it’s actually better today than earlier this week I think, but feels worse than the hot days we had last month.

God, I hate summer. I hate going outside for 2 minutes and then feeling like I need to take a shower.
