Great Daycare in Olney that’s not Kindercare

Looking for a daycare that’s really good that’s not kindercRe. They currently have a 2 year wait. My child will be 6 months when he starts.

If you're looking for center based care (as opposed to home daycare), there aren't many options. There's Children in the Shoe, Goddard, and Kindercare. We've been at Goddard for years and love it. When we were touring we did tour Children and the Shoe and Kindercare. We eliminated Kindercare because we didn't like what we saw. Children in the Shoe looked nice, but they had a super long wait list. Goddard had an opening. Are you pregnant now? Get on waitlists! You may need to expand beyond Olney if you're looking for center based care.

Children in the Shoe looked great when we were searching in June 2020, but it was too expensive for us. Looks like waitlists have become crazy again.

Our children have gone to Children in the Shoe's Rockville location since 2016, and the organization is fantastic. Highly recommend.

Thank you all! We are looking into Children in the Shoe! A new location in North Bethesda may be the option. Olney has an opening but the 730 opening may not work for us

The children in the shoe in Olney has been around forever with lots of good experience. We toured and liked it but could not get in and had to go to a less convenient location that we liked. 7:30 is a very typical opening time, I’d try to make it work

Agreed- was just about to recommend an in-home provider as an alternative but she opens at 730 too. Everyone we know who has used children in the shoe has positve things to say.

Thank you all for your advice about Children in the Shoe! We ended up taking the Olney spot for our baby to start in the fall! This has been helpful.

can you please share your weekly tuition for Children in the Shoe?

Children in the Shoe Olney is 113/day. We are doing 2 days per week so $226/week or $979/month. Each children in the shoe has a different rate though. The new one in North Bethesda is approx 1000/month for 2 days/week.
