How is GPA calculated?

Anonymous
If a student receives an A in the first part of semester and a B for the second half and ends up with an A for the semester, is their GPA different than someone who received an A for both halves of semester?
Anonymous
No, the GPA is the same, based only on the semester grade.

My kids knew which classes they needed to work in and which to skate in to keep all As. Quite amusing to see how well they could apply math!

I am confused. Report cards do list GPAs for each quarter, but that doesn't matter? Just the semester gpa?

For high school classes, all that matters are the semester grades. The cumulative GPA is based off the averages of the semester grades, including the extra points applied to any honors/AP/IB grades.
