I’ve settled on a car. Two paths for a 2016 C-Max Energi (this car it fits all my needs).
83k miles for 13.5k 40k miles for 19k Same trim, no accidents. I’m looking for something that’ll last me roughly 5 years, until EV‘s are further along. Also something my teen can drive for the next year until she goes to college. My only concern is the battery. It’s meant to last 8-10 years but I’m sure will go till 12. So maybe it’s better to get the higher mileage car and save the money. We’re paying cash. |

Iwould go for the low miles. Ihave had two cmaxes one a 2013 non energy. went 100K before it got taken out in an accident.
I bought a 2015 energi. Love it. sittingon 60K miles. no problems. battery range is now down from 22 to around 15-17 I have head that 100k miles is starting to get into the danger zone from a transmission POV the only think I don't like about the energi is the way the batteries take up floor space. The non plugin cmax, has a nice flat floor when the seats are folded down. |
