6 year used PHEV: Low miles, high cost vs. high miles, low cost???

I’ve settled on a car. Two paths for a 2016 C-Max Energi (this car it fits all my needs).
83k miles for 13.5k
40k miles for 19k

Same trim, no accidents. I’m looking for something that’ll last me roughly 5 years, until EV‘s are further along. Also something my teen can drive for the next year until she goes to college.

My only concern is the battery. It’s meant to last 8-10 years but I’m sure will go till 12. So maybe it’s better to get the higher mileage car and save the money. We’re paying cash.

Iwould go for the low miles. Ihave had two cmaxes one a 2013 non energy. went 100K before it got taken out in an accident.

I bought a 2015 energi. Love it. sittingon 60K miles. no problems. battery range is now down from 22 to around 15-17

I have head that 100k miles is starting to get into the danger zone from a transmission POV

the only think I don't like about the energi is the way the batteries take up floor space. The non plugin cmax, has a nice flat floor when the seats are folded down.
