Crime rate among homeless and low income housing

Anonymous
Did DC ever do a factual study about crime rate among homeless encampments and low income housing or is it just an assumption? If yes then what sort of issues are common and what was done to help them and to shelter taxpayers?

I doubt its often looked at through the lens of science, mostly through lens of political gain to find band aid solutions for votes.

Most homeless encampments are nuisance crimes with the rare stabbings or beatings.

Public housing has more gun violence, child and elder abuse, robberies, and petty crimes, like breaking into vending and laundry machines, pubic intoxication, exposures, and similar.

Isn’t it obvious? What studies are needed?

Walked in the UDC area yesterday. Lot of folks begging. Looks like those buildings that have been converted to low-income are getting all the services (not)

Raising questions about this very topic retired Mary Cheh so don’t expect any discussion or progress addressing this issue.
