I've always wondered this

I had a guy I knew from work in high school. We ended up going to the same college and had a lot of mutual friends/saw each other at parties often but nothing notable ever happened. In our late 20s, we ran into each other at a bar and went home together. In the morning he said "Dang, I've wondered about being with you so many times over the years and I spent 75% of.our time together reciting basketballs stats in my head" with this awkward shrug.

I just ran in to him with our families and it brought that memory back up.

Was it boring him? Was he distracted or not into it? Was he trying not to get off?

I think he was trying to say that he was so worried he wouldn't last (because he wanted to be with you so much) that he distracted himself with basketball stats.

But, yes, he'd wanted to be with you for years and was so excited in the moment he was thinking of other things to last longer.

This is very true. The first time with someone can end very quickly so you do whatever it takes to keep going. Most guys can’t have multiple O’s in a single session so you savor the moment.
