Summer homework assignments this year?

Are schools still not requiring, or assigning summer homework, like the past couple summers? We have a rising 9th grader and have heard nothing about it from the HS.

We never heard about it from the school either. Kid learned when he showed up week 1 it was due. Had a miserable few days as a result. Definitely check the school website.

PP you replied to. He's at WJ, and takes advanced math and other AP classes, and has never done summer school assignments. Perhaps there are some on the website? But I don't think many kids do them. Teachers never talked about it.

Whitman has summer reading on its website. My kids have had to do summer reading each year. The math packets are optional.

Rising senior DC has physics chemistry English and math

Depends if there is a teacher willing to teach/monitor. Most are burnt out and don't want to see kids for 8 weeks!

Summer homework isn't due until school starts in the fall. It's not summer school.
