Concealed Handguns on DC Metro

As someone who uses public transportation, this troubles me on many levels. I wonder how many of the plaintiffs actually take the Metro.

They might not take the Metro now, but they want to, with their guns.

Do you have any conception how many unlawfully armed people ride the Metro in any given day? It has to be huge.

Do you have any conception how many legally armed people ride the Metro every day considering all the police, federal agents and assorted other personnel in this area?

Anybody riding the Metro with a concealed firearm and a permit will be trained, tested and thoroughly background checks. Contrary to your paranoia, their guns, like the guns of most criminals and ordinarily all law enforcement, will neither leap into independent action, nor possess their carriers and compel them to do evil.

That explains all shootings on the Metro. Too many armed people there.

No reason to be afraid of good people carrying guns. The guns are there now and shootings are not happening.

HA! The VA concealed handgun permits consist of a ridiculous online test with no prior firearms training. It's a joke certificate. these are not heavily trained and tested folks. These are extremists yahoos with a gun.

Gosh! You seem to be making a lot of assumptions. How did you get from “ troubles me” to “paranoia”, “leaping into independent action” , “possession” and “compel them to do evil”? Your thought process here is ….interesting.

Pretty confident that a good portion of DC residents are carrying guns or other weapons on the metro already. Strange thing to be worried about...

Pretty sure No Savage, Yung Capitul and Lil Diztrict have been carrying handguns on metro since they were 13 year old aspiring rappers

If someone is willing to go to the trouble of wading through the permit application process, has the background checks that come with it, and have dotted all the i’s and crossed the t’s, those aren’t the people I’m at all concerned about having a gun on the metro.

Pretty sure that none of you actually take the Metro on a regular basis, if at all. What I’d really like to know, though, is if the 4 guys behind the case do, or if they’re just shills for the NRA.

I have two female friends who have guns in their purses at all times. One has a CCP, one does not. Both take Metro daily and have (armed) for years.

Wait! You’re telling us an inanimate object, with no self awareness, upon which no force is acted upon, will not impose an equal opposite force?

Where was OP for any numerous stabbings, when metro ran on a regular schedule?

Um there have definitely been shootings in Metro stations, for the Pp who seems to be suggesting that never happens. This is not to say I support concealed carry on Metro, I absolutely do not. But there have definitely been shooting in Metro stations (I think one earlier this week?).
